The McHargue Family
Hi there! We are Shad and Dani McHargue and together with our kids we run the Dairy Barn Flower Farm. Shad is the muscle and the common sense, Dani is the dreamer, schemer, and flower grower, and the kids get to tag along and enjoy all things outdoors, and good old fashioned farm life. Our family has always dreamed of working the land TOGETHER; we know we have a very special and unique opportunity to experience the land and country lifestyle that very few people have and our flower farm is one of the ways to get to share that experience and privilege with others in our community. We focus on growing high quality specialty and heirloom cut flower varieties; those beauties that you cannot just pick up at the grocery store. Our flowers are highly fragrant, chemical free, and grown right here in Idaho’s beautiful Treasure Valley!
Dani
flower farmer
Flowers have always had a special place in my heart. A seed planted there by my dad. He always got flowers for my mom and I on special holidays or when important events happened in my life. Some of the most memorable being the Valentine’s Day bouquets I got from my dad until the year he passed away, and the flower arrangement I got the day after my favorite sheep died. The more that I grow and learn about flowers the greater my passion for them becomes. Seeing the look on peoples faces when they pick up their bouquets fuels that passion and I love surprising my friends and family members with beautiful bouquets in simple recycled glass jars. One of my goals is to make my farm as sustainable as possible. I love using and reusing things like mason jars, or pickle jars, or olive jars (or really anything that comes in a jar) for bouquets.
